Willa Coroka to speak about beavers in Francestown

Willa Coroka, founder of The Magpie’s Apprentice, will lead a presentation on the American beaver, North America’s largest rodent, on Friday, Nov. 15, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Francestown Town Hall, second floor, 27 Main St., Francestown.

This program covers the beaver’s impact as both a keystone species and occasional pest, touching on its ecological role, engineering abilities and historical significance. The event is part of the Joan Hanchett Nature Series and is free and open to all ages. Sponsors include Francestown Land Trust, George Holmes Bixby Library, The Francestown News and the Francestown Conservation Commission.
