Peterborugh man arrested after head-on crash in Antrim led to injuries

David Graves, 37, of Peterborough was arrested on charges of vehicular assault and negligent driving on May 11 following a head-on crash on Route 9 May 9 that resulted in serious injuries.
Antrim Police and Antrim Fire & Ambulance responded to the accident, which happened at 1:20 p.m. at Keene Road (Route 9) and Salmon Brook Road in Antrim.
According to Antrim Police, the initial investigation determined that a 2012 Toyota Tacoma driven by Graves was traveling westbound on Keene Road when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe head-on. Antrim Fire Chief Marshall Gale said response to the accident required two ambulances and heavy rescue equipment.
“There were three people involved, and two people had multi-system trauma,” Gale said Thursday. “The passenger received serious injuries, and we had to cut her out of the vehicle with hydraulic equipment.”
The injured passenger was transported to Concord Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
“We will be following up with them soon about how the patient is doing; we always want to follow up to see if there was anything we could have done better,” Gale said.
Graves was also transported to Concord Hospital with apparent chest and facial injuries. The driver of the Tahoe was was evaluated and treated on scene by Antrim Fire & Ambulance personnel.
According to the Antrim Police, both lanes of Route 9 were closed for approximately 1 1/2 hours while the scene was being cleared by emergency personnel. The vehicles were recovered by Mike’s Towing.

Graves was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, June 17, in the Hillsborough District Court.
The Antrim Police Department was assisted at the scene by Antrim Fire & Ambulance, Hillsboro Fire Department, Bennington Police Department, New Hampshire State Police and Mike’s Towing.
