The Peterborough Town Library and Friends of the Library will host “12,000 Years Ago in the Granite State,” a talk by Robert Goodby, on Thursday, Nov. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 2 Concord St., Peterborough.

Goodby, an anthropology professor at Franklin Pierce University, will discuss discoveries from a 2009 archaeological survey in Keene that uncovered one of New England’s oldest Native American sites. Findings included four dwellings, more than 200 stone tools and evidence of burned animal bones, revealing a complex social network among early Paleoindian groups.

The event, supported by NH Humanities, is free and open to the public; no registration required. Parking is limited, so attendees are encouraged to use nearby Depot Square or Riverwalk lots. Information is available at peterboroughtownlibrary.org or by calling 603-924-8040.
