Greenville’s annual “Light Up Greenville” Christmas light and house decoration contest is currently open for people to register.
The contest has three categories: Yankee Christmas, Winter Wonderland and Santa’s Workshop. Yankee Christmas is for homes decorated with white lights and greenery, with no colored lights. Winter Wonderland includes colored lights or small amounts of inflatables. Santa’s Workshop, formally known as Christmas Vacation, is for the most over-the-top decorations, with lights, blowups, spinning items and searchlights.
Prizes for the top homes will be awarded.
Decorations must be up and on no later than Dec. 14, with judging starting on Dec. 17. Judging will be between Dec. 17 and 21, with final announcement the evening of Dec. 23. The contest is currently seeking judges, and people who are interested in judging or signing up for the contest should contact Heather Rathbun Schoff on Facebook, or comment under the “Light Up Greenville” post on the Greenville NH – Historic Village Community Facebook group.
A map of all participating houses will be created for residents to tour. The map will be posted on the Greenville NH – Historic Village Community Facebook group by Dec. 12
Homes that are entered into another Christmas light contest are still eligible to participate.
