Hancock Old Home Days are Aug. 16 to 18

Hancock’s Old Home Days celebration will be Friday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 18.

Events kick off Friday with an ice cream social, Gravy Train food truck and music from Skip Philbrick from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Town Common. The early bird book sale at Hancock Town Library is from 5 to 8 p.m.

On Saturday, activities include the Run for the Honey at 8 a.m. and the fun run for children at 9 a.m. Artisan and handmade goods will be at the Horse Sheds from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m, and there will be an art and photography show in the church vestry 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

The library book sale continues from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The parade, with the theme of “Adventures in Hancock,” is at 10:30 a.m. Winners will be announced at 11:30 a.m.

Children’s activities will take place on the Common from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the Hancock Historical Society museum will be open.

The Temple Band performs from 11:15 a.m. to noon, and the Synchro Sisters perform at noon at Norway Pond Beach.

The  Family Foam Party is from 2 to 3 p.m., and the Hancock Fire Department chicken barbecue is 4 to 6 p.m.
