The Greenfield Harness, Drawbar & Tractor Club’s 36th annual antique tractor show took place on Saturday and Sunday at Oak Park in Greenfield.

Despite the wind and rain on Saturday, the community turned out both days to view the antique tractors and  browse the flea market. Dorene Adams of Greenfield, who organizes the event, was happy with the weather and the turnout.

“We really lucked out today,” Adams said on Sunday. “It could not be more beautiful and it’s just great to see everyone out.”

“I’ve sold lots of cotton candy, so it’s a great day!” said Shannon Bilodeau of Greenfield.

Antiques and collectibles vendor Adele Hale agreed it was a successful event.

“People came out even in the wind yesterday,” she said. “It’s a great tradition here in town.”

The highlight of the show is the Parade of Tractors around the track at Oak Park, when drivers ranging in age from 2 to over 80 took farm and lawn tractors around the quarter-mile track. The club promotes restoration and preservation of old farm equipment.

“I’ve never been to a tractor show before, but I live in town and wanted to check it out,” said Sharon Andrews, who was shopping for corn stalks to decorate her porch. “The machines are very interesting, and it’s fun to see all the kids.”
