On Aug. 16 at Crotched Mountain Golf Club in Francestown, the J Field Foundation Golf Tournament raised more than $14,000 toward the organization’s mission to provide equine therapy sessions to veterans and youth living with traumatic brain injuries. 

“Because of the generosity of all of our sponsors and golfers, the J Field Foundation will award even more scholarships this year. We are already working on ways to grow the tournament next year, to help even more individuals, who like me, have the daily challenge of living with a traumatic brain injury,” stated Jennifer Field of Peterborough, the foundation’s president.

Two teams tied for first place with a 63.

The tie was broken on the ninth hole, where Team Timberpeg clinched the top prize with a birdie. Team Timberpeg members Tyler Faulkner, Jarod Redfield, Hayden Goodenough and Troy Rich vowed to return next year to defend their title.

In second place, also scoring 63, with nine birdies, were Ruthie and Jeff Barker and Lynn and John Judge. Veterans of the tournament, the foursome also plans to return next year to birdie every hole.

In third place were the Blue Birdies of Debbie Depres, Jeff Hadad, Chuck and Tina Ryll, with a 67.

The Premiere Sponsor was Danielle Edwardson. Platinum Sponsor Joanne Field sponsored two foursomes and provided prizes for the winning teams, as well as the raffle prizes.

Henry Taves of Peterborough annually donates two Red Sox tickets toward the raffle prizes.

Frani Ridder was the Event Sponsor. Gold Sponsors were Anne Polk and Stanley and Susan Trotman. Joanne Payson was the Title Sponsor, and Edward Miller sponsored lunch. Sydney Davis sponsored the beverage cart, and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript was the media sponsor.

Betsy Gordon sponsored the women’s longest drive, which was won by Moe Kelly. 

Marc Schaal at Timberpeg Construction sponsored the men’s longest drive, which Tyler Faulkner won with a 255-yard shot.

The Monadnock Ledger-Transcript sponsored the men’s closest to the pin, which Dalton Stacy won by planting his drive 4 feet, 4 inches from the pin. Annie Card won women’s closet to the pin, sponsored by Broad Oak Tree & Shrub Care.
