Peterborough Town Library, 2 Concord St., will present its next Community Art Gallery exhibit, “Kaleidoscope,” beginning Friday, June 6.

The collection of paintings by Lee Dunholter will remain on view through the end of July. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on June 6 as part of First Friday. The artist will be present to speak with visitors.

The exhibit includes colorful, graphic paintings that reflect Dunholter’s interest in form, movement and visual experimentation. He uses a grid-based approach to create compositions that mix lines, images and bursts of color. His recent work explores the space between structure and spontaneity.

Dunholter is professor emeritus at Franklin Pierce University and has worked as a scenic designer for the Peterborough Players, New Hampshire Dance Institute and the former Keene Children’s Museum. He holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati, Franklin Pierce and Harvard University, and studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and Banff School of Fine Arts. His paintings are held in private collections across several regions. He works from his studio in Peterborough.
