Lyndeborough will hold its second community day Sunday, Aug. 25, from 1 to 5 p.m. in and around the Center Hall, 1131 Center Road in Lyndeborough Center.

The Heritage Commission and Historical Society are sponsoring this family event. The Pop Farmers Band, returning from last year, will provide live entertainment.

At least 14 vendors will offer arts, crafts and farm products. The Fire Department will provide lunch, including hot dogs and hamburgers, all afternoon. This year’s event will also include a fryer for fried dough and other treats. Donations will be accepted to help provide equipment.

A fire truck, town Highway Department equipment and a farm tractor will be on hand for inspection and children to climb on. Rides will be available on the Fire Department’s forest fire ATV.

The Lafayette Artillery Company will be in uniform to fire their 1844 cannon and provide information on the company’s over 200 years of history. The company was founded in Peterborough in 1804 and is the second-oldest such company in the country. It is looking for new members.

The company will also hold a flag-retirement ceremony at 3 p.m. People should bring flags that they want to retire.

The J.A. Tarbell Library will provide crafts in Center Hall. Games with small prizes will also be offered.

The event is free, and parking will be available.
