Lyndeborough will host is first annual Community Day since 2019 this weekend, after a hiatus caused by COVID-19 restrictions.

The event is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on the grounds of the Center Hall in Lyndeborough Center.

“We need to get the town back together again,” said organizer Stephanie Roper.

The event is jointly hosted by the Heritage Commission and the Lyndeborough Historical Society, with donations going toward the purchase of the former Congregational Church building.

Attractions this year include the band Pop Farmers, who will play live music during the burger and hot dog barbecue lunch, which doubles as a fundraiser for the town’s volunteer fire department.

There will be fire and highway department vehicles plus farm equipment for children to explore in a Touch-a-Truck event.

The town’s Lafayette Artillery will be present and in uniform to answer questions about the organization and history.

The J.A. Tarbell Library is offering children’s crafts inside the former Town Hall, and there will be games, including cornhole and ring toss with children’s prizes on the lawn.

A farmers’ market on the lawn will feature homemade items including jams, jellies, soaps and produce, including vegetables and honey. Crafters are invited to set up tables, with no charge for participation. Contact Louis Rota at 978-289-3828, or louis.rota@yahoo.com, for information.
