Letter: Protecting the Constitution

As we celebrate the 248th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the upcoming 235th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution, I have come to reflect on the recent actions of the Supreme Court.

I believe that James Madison had no intention of giving the president of the United States kingly powers, since Thomas Jefferson, in the Declaration of Independence, had stated the Britain’s King George III undertook such kingly actions.  The outline of the Constitution, its preamble, shows no such tendency.

I believe that the Supreme Court has violated its own Constitution.

Vote for President Joe Biden to ensure that Donald Trump is not elected president.
