McQueen to discuss film noir in Hancock

Participants can explore the world of film noir with Dan McQueen Thursday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. at the Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St.

McQueen, a student of film history with a focus on the era of film noir from the 1940s and 1950s, will cover the genre's meaning, influences, evolution, common elements and essential films. The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer session. He founded the podcast “Shadows of Noir” to celebrate and discuss the filmmaking of the past. His work aims to engage people with the history of film noir.
