A Peterborough resident who was reported missing Friday night was found safe Sunday morning.

According to Police Chief Scott Guinard, 45-year-old Asmita Nepal went for a walk on Greenfield Road, which her son said was not unusual, but did not return. She was reported missing at around 10:20 p.m., and police searched the area, including with a K-9, into early Saturday morning. Guinard said the search continued through Saturday night, including a secondary K-9, until a resident spotted Nepal on Ashlee Drive at around 7 a.m. Sunday.

Guinard said Nepal was healthy and safe, and was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital to get checked out. He said she did not say why she had left and not come back.

“She indicated she had spent some time with an acquaintance,” he said.
