After winning the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist’s raffle to travel anywhere in the world for dinner in September, Maria and Steve Brown of Lyndeborough have decided to travel to Scotland in September 2024.
Maria purchased her winning ticket from the PUUC booth at the Peterborough Farmers Market during August. The Browns are coordinating with PUUC to determine how (up to) $5,000 will be used toward their two round-trip airline tickets, two nights’ accommodations and dinner at a restaurant of their choice. At this time, they are hoping to stay at the Gleneagles luxury hotel in Edinburgh and have dinner at Gleneagles’ The Spence restaurant.
Separately, they are planning to extend their trip so they will be able to spend time on the Isle of Mull, attend the Braemar Highland Games in Cairngorms National Park and take a tour of Loch Ness.
The dinner anywhere raffle proceeds benefit the ministries of PUUC, which includes support for local arts, food pantries, transitional shelters, and End 68 Hours of Hunger.
