Live music, face painting and a 5K race were among the offerings at Peak into Peterborough on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Wagon rides on Belgian horses, a fashion show that included the models’ dogs, and local vendors under tents at Putnam Park drew families and under a cloudless sky. A “Best Soup in Peterborough” contest at the Unitarian Universalist Church saw Harlow’s emerge with the title. The Peterborough Fire Department demonstrated an extraction procedure using a wrecked automobile and hosted a Touch-A-Truck event. 

Sean Walter was the first finisher in the men’s division of the trot with a time of 18 minutes, 1 second. Lindsey Masterson was the first women’s finisher at 22:23. The Greater Monadnock Collaborative, a regional chamber of commerce with an office at 20 Grove St. in Peterborough, organized the annual event which was presented by presented by LR3 Development, LLC. Individuals central to bringing the day together including Megan Suokko, Dan Petrone, Laura Akerly, Jeremy Blydenburgh-Cote and Mandy Sliver, according to collaborative President and CEO Luca Paris.
