The Peterborough Players’ next National Theatre Live screening will be William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet,” with Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 2.

While “Hamlet” showcases the struggles of Danish royals, it illuminates core elements that drive most people: grief, betrayal, the need to be loved and family. Further, Shakespeare has layered a “revenge tragedy” in which the hero, Hamlet, seeks vengeance against his father’s murderer, his uncle Claudius, now the king of Denmark, with Hamlet’s own personal psychological drama.

Single tickets and ticket packages are available for purchase by calling the box office at 603-924-7585 or visiting peterboroughplayers.org, where people can also find descriptions of all Arts on Screen presentations.  The Peterborough Players box office at 55 Hadley Road is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and two hours before show times.
