On Saturday, July 27, at 1 p.m. p.m., Rindge Historical Society continues its 2024 season of Music at the Museum.

The July open mic features local songwriter and musician Steve Rapson, and will be held outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society, 24 School St. A $5 donation at the door benefits the Historical Society’s museum. Desserts, light lunch refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided. No reservations are required, and everyone is welcome.

Rapson is a recording artist, songwriter and musician. He is the author of “The Art of the Soloperformer: A Field Guide to Stage & Podium.” Rapson splits his time between summers in Winchendon, Mass., and winters in Jupiter, Fla.

Anyone interested in performing during the open mic portion of the event should send email to Ray Siekierski at nooniekirk52@gmail.com. Musicians, poets and spoken-word artists are encouraged to perform.

Music at the Museum is a monthly event held on the last Saturday of the month, March through October, at either the Rindge Meeting House or outdoors at the Rindge Historical Society depending on weather. For more than a decade, the open mic has featured local talent of all ages and food.

Future Music at the Museum dates are Aug. 31 with Tom Smith, Sept. 28 with Mark Frederick Fisher, and the final 2024 season event on Oct. 26 with a performance by Garrels and Anderson. August and September Music at the Museum will continue in its outdoor setting (weather permitting).
