Two Jaffrey police cruisers were damaged when they collided with each other on Turnpike Road in the early morning hours of Aug. 18.

According to police logs, at about 12:23 a.m., Jaffrey police officer Igor Celzner was driving west on Turnpike Road in a department 2022 Ford Explorer when he pulled into the Medifab parking lot in preparation to stop a vehicle traveling eastbound for a speeding violation.

When Celzner pulled out of the parking lot, the log states he did not yield to oncoming traffic, which was a Jaffrey police cruiser, a 2021 Ford Explorer, driven by officer Brianna Rogers, who was traveling west on Turnpike Road. When Celzner pulled out of the Medifab parking lot, his and Rogers’ cruisers collided. Both cruisers sustained heavy front-end damage and were towed from the scene to Gauthier’s Auto Service in Jaffrey.

Both Celzner and Rogers were transported by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital.

The Rindge Police Department responded to the scene and is processing the accident report and investigation.
