Carrie and Jeff Reder’s Hancock home has quite a history. At the end of their driveway, an old wooden sign reads simply “The Lodge.”
Music on Norway Pond will present American pianist Evren Ozel Sunday, April 13, at 4 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Hancock, 47 Main St. The concert is part of an ongoing partnership with the New England Conservatory of Music, where Ozel is currently a candidate in the Artist Diploma program.
A presentation on the history of the Hancock meetinghouses will take place Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the first-floor meeting room of the Hancock Meetinghouse.

Hancock resident Henry Ditlow, a senior at High Mowing School in Wilton, launched Hancock’s first seed library Saturday at Hancock Town Library.
We are off to France to visit a son and his family, who were relocated by his company at the end of August for a stint at headquarters in Paris. What a project getting four people, inclusive of two children, ages 4 and 1, plus two dogs and most of the furniture across the Atlantic.
My niece Alex recently moved in with us. Very much a meat eater (and city dweller), as well as an excellent cook, Alex decided to leap into her aunt’s and uncle’s slightly off-the-beaten-path lifestyle and embrace a vegan diet. She also committed to working in the vegetable garden with us this season and is excited to create meals with freshly picked ingredients.

A new private foundation looking to support classical education has identified a local charter school as a model for other schools that it might support.
Author Betsy Small will present “Before Before: A Story of Discovery and Loss in Sierra Leone” on Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m. at the Hancock Town Library, 25 Main St., Hancock.
After narrowly missing last year, and a severe injury to a team member’s son, Kim Bergeron of Dublin and Jean-Pierre “JP” Bernier of Hancock completed the Pro Class of the Iron Dog race in Alaska.
