The Francestown Zoning Board approved a variance which will enable the new owner of the multifamily units on Torrey Pines Road adjacent to the Crotched Mountain Golf Course to move forward with a plan to convert the buildings from short-term rentals to long-term rentals.

Starting April 1, the Crotched Mountain Consortium between the Francestown and Greenfield libraries has been officially up and running.

Once dinner was served at the second Women of Francestown dinner at the Francestown Meetinghouse Saturday, volunteer Judy Bitterli led the group in a toast.
New Hampshire Audubon Senior Biologist Pamela Hunt will present "Dragons & Damsels," a talk on dragonflies and damselflies, Friday, March 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Francestown Town Hall, second floor, 27 Main St., Francestown.
The Francestown Recreation Department hosted the second Community Science Fair on Saturday, March 22, at the Francestown Town Hall. Students from Great Brook School, Francestown Elementary School and homeschool students, ranging in age from 7 to 15, participated in this year’s fair. Meteorologist Cyrena Arnold and Nate Monty of Morphs and Milestones served as judges.

I have long been concerned about the declining health of Americans and especially our children, the prioritization of “how to pay for” disease treatment over investment in upstream disease prevention and the conflicts of interest in and corruption of our medical and scientific agencies.

Dublin’s and Francestown’s efforts to withdraw from the ConVal School District failed Tuesday.
A letter was sent recently to the ConVal superintendent and School Board by the Francestown School Committee addressing misleading information that had been presented by the School Board in public presentations and requesting the backup data used to inform their public presentations.

Misinformation is harmful, and difficult to undo. In a recent letter to the editor (“ConVal costs to be decided,” Feb. 25), a respected voice in our region, Jeanne Dietsch, opined on the proposed withdrawal of Francestown (and Dublin) from the ConVal School District.
