Each month in Wilton, community members led by “firekeeper” Chris Griffin gather around a sacred fire to share about their lives, connect and release their burdens.
The other day, I joined Michael Dell’Orto on his back porch. Michael is someone who people may have seen for decades serving on various Wilton committees or working behind the scenes in other ways but know little about.
“We had a terrific year at SAU 63.” stated Superintendent Paul Weaver. “We have been focused on continuous improvement and have seen tremendous growth in many areas. Our students are achieving their target growth rates as reflected in our ongoing diagnostic testing, as well as demonstrated improvement in their standardized scores.”

A rare non-rainy Saturday was the setting for Wilton’s Summerfest on the town’s Main Street.
The other day, I tuned to a program on NPR discussing the story of soap operas on TV. It made me laugh, as long-shelved memories began to reemerge and I realized this topic ties to why we settled in Wilton. Let me explain.

Town employees in Wilton have secured health insurance for the balance of the calendar year, as the town resolved an issue created when their current risk pool decided to end coverage for them at the end of this month.
The Town Hall Theatre in Wilton will launch a summer mini-series of silent-era boxing films with live music, beginning Sunday, June 8, at 2 p.m. with a screening of “The Shakedown” (1929). The theater is located at 40 Main St., Wilton.

After being informed that its health insurance for employees would end on June 30, the Town of Wilton has decided to go with Harvard Pilgrim Health Plan.
The other day, as I was returning to Wilton from Lyndborough’s Maple Lane Farm after picking up a pie, I was struck by the many signs that announce “fresh eggs.” But it wasn’t the signs that grabbed my full attention. It was an elaborate chicken coop that appeared to be a chicken’s housing dream.
A screening of the 1927 silent film “The Gaucho,” starring Douglas Fairbanks Sr., will take place Sunday, May 18, at 2 p.m. at the Town Hall Theatre, 40 Main St., Wilton.
